Our first item was a new bed for Ben and I. Of course we weren't really looking for a bed for us (we were looking for a new bed for Michael), but we just couldn't pass up such a good deal. I have wanted to get a king bed for a while now. This one was posted with box springs, mattress, and 4" memory foam for $50. It is only a few years old and in excellent condition (Editor's note: Ben bumped it up to an even $75 to entice the guy to deliver it!) Remember, before we got it we had been sleeping on an air mattress for about 30 days. The nice man delivered it for us and threw in two sheet sets.
Next, we did find a bed for Michael. It was just an okay deal ($70 for the bed/mattress/bunk board), but it was just what he wanted. He went with Ben to pick it up and had the biggest smile on his face when they got home. They immediately took it up to his room and put it together.
We had been talking about getting a new kitchen table since before we moved. We actually had been to Ikea and found the one that we wanted before we even bought our house. It was this black, wooden, very simple table. Then, when we bought our house and had black appliances in the kitchen, I wanted it even more. One evening, while I was "craigslisting it," there was a listing for "brand new Ikea table with six chairs - $150." I clicked on the link and it was the exact table that we had been looking at for months. Perfect. (Editor's note: The best part of the story is that the guy had already committed to sell it to another buyer before Ben offered him a cool $175 to put us at the top of the list ... like fish in a barrel ... he he he).
Our latest craigslist deal was awesome. I decided to just look for "free" things. Who doesn't want something for free? This couch was listed for free and it matched our family room perfectly and was in pretty good shape. The only catch was that Ben had to help the owners carry it down from a third floor apartment. It turned out great as well.
So, if you have never tried craigslist . . . give it a try. But, be cautious, it is very addicting.

Hey sweet Bets,
All of those deals you got are so awesome! I love getting a bargain! Your' new home is beautiful! Thanks for finding that care bear costume. I'm with you though, I don't think Dontchy could fit a toe in it. I just bought her one on eBay last week, and can't wait for it to get here. I'm missing you guys like crazy! Love you Bets.
P.S. I love all of the pictures of everyone waiting at the bus stop. Your neighborhood looks like a kids (and moms) dream come true.
Craigslist is the work of a genius.
