Well, I did it. Or perhaps I should say, WE did it (because I never could have done it without them). I ran my first 8K!!! A few months ago my girlfriends talked me into running with them, I needed the exercise and so I decided to run. A month or so later they decided to start training for this 8K, and I decided I wouldn't run the race but I would still run with them in the mornings. So, run we did, at 6:30am (wow!), three to four days a week (wowie, wow, wow). Well, as November 14th got closer I finally signed up for the race. Our last run before the race was on a very dark, cold, early morning while it was pouring rain -- these cute girls are just too much fun not to hang out with!

I think the best part of my race was when I saw my sweet family standing along the rail cheering me on. Ben is the best husband ever!! He got our sweet little family out of bed at the crack of dawn, drove to downtown Richmond, found a parking spot in all of the race chaos, and pushed all three of my kids in the stroller uphill for four blocks to see me finish the race. I can't even express what an energy boost it was to see their cute smiling faces. I wished I would have had the camera with me to take a picture of them. I am so blessed to have such a sweet husband and kids. Thanks for all of the encouragement and support guys.

I am excited for you. I'll bet we can find a 5k while you are here for Christmas!!!
Woot Woot! I am so proud of you! Good work Willard!
Betsy, congratulations on such an accomplishment! I'm so glad you decided to run the race and had your family there cheering you on at the finish! It's almost inspiring enough to make me want to run :) But I'll just stick to ultimate frisbee and volleyball.
Way to go!!! That's so awesome, I love running, I bet you feel so good, and how fun to have such a supportive family.
Well done.
