After weeding, weeding and more weeding under our playset . . . we finally decided to do something a little more serious. We started by laying down "weed paper" which blocks weeds from growing. Then we bought some 6"x6"x8' and bordered our playset. We borrowed some tools from our neighbors and Ben did some very exact and beautiful cutting . . . Michael also helped.

It was a pretty fun family project. We even had a Family Home Evening lesson about working. The kids were really great helpers. After the 6x6's were cut we drilled through them and spiked them into the ground.

The next day we had seven yards of play chips delivered.

The kids really loved playing on the wood chip pile. Our wonderful friends, the Andersons, came over that afternoon to help us. Brittany and I took wheelbarrow after wheelbarrow over while all of the kids played. It was really fun, and I am so lucky to have such sweet friends. We finished up that evening after dinner.

I think it looks pretty awesome. Hopefully it will take care of our weeding problem, at least in that part of our yard. Man . . . things grow like crazy in Virginia.
