Eight is Great!

On November 16th Michael turned eight years old. It is hard to believe that I have been a parent for eight years now . . . where does the time go? A few days before his birthday we had a little party for him at home (per his request) with a few of his friends. I think they all had lots of fun. We had games, races, food, homemade oreo cookies, contests and lots of giggling!

On his actual birthday we celebrated with his birthday dinner of Sweet and Sour Chicken, and then he headed off for his very first day of scouts. He was so excited, he had been asking us for a few months if he actually got to go to scouts on his birthday (luckily it was on a Tuesday this year).

Then, on that Saturday (the 20th) Michael was baptized. It was a wonderful event and he had lots of support from friends and family.


We love Michael so much and are grateful to have him in our family. There is not a day that goes by that he doesn't surprise (or frustrate) me with his intelligence. He is always up for playing a game (especially electronics), and he loves it when he gets to stay up late and watch a Jazz game with his dad. Michael is a great example to his siblings as well as his parents! Happy Eighth Birthday sweet Michael.
