Winging it!

You know that line from Shanghi Noon where Wallace shoots a guy and then says, "I was just winging it!" And Roy O'Bannon says "What? No! That's not how we wing it! You've lost your 'winging it' privileges!" Well, I have never been that good at winging it. I am the type of person who likes a plan, sets goals and makes lists. Ben, on the other hand, rocks at winging it. So this weekend when my cousin, who just got on with the Philidelphia Eagles, called with two tickets to the game, we decided to just "wing it." We got the call Friday evening, rearranged a few things and left Saturday mid-morning. We threw a few things in the car and hit the road.


The kids are actually really great travelers (the portable DVD player helps too). Marcus works in Philly, but they actually live in New Jersey. This is us going over the bridge into New Jersey on our way to their new home (they moved in on Monday). It was so fun to be able to chat and hang out with them. My aunt was also there, helping with the move, so we got to spend time with her too. My kids loved playing with their darling second cousin, Jonah.


The next afternoon Ben and Michael went to the game. It was pretty fancy -- the seats were awesome.


As family members of a player they got to go to the special family lounge and hang out and have free food (Ben said Michael had three Root Beers), and get free programs and talk to other player's families. They also got to meet Swoop!


They had a blast. What an awesome thing to get to do. Thanks Marcus!!! Thanks also, for letting the five of us come up and hang out with your sweet family. I am sure it is not the last time we will be making that drive to Philly.

So, we did it. And we didn't even loose our winging it privileges (mainly thanks to Ben's awesome 'winging it skills.'
