. . . playing basketball outside in short sleeves and having a picnic????? (on Dec 23rd???)
. . . starting new traditions. Michael had a project in school to learn about his heritage. We did some family geneology research and he decided to learn about his Dutch heritage. He did a report and dressed up as a little Dutch boy and presented it at school.
In his research he learned that a Dutch tradition around this time of year, is making Pepernoten (Dutch Christmas Cookies). So, this year we decided to try making them. They were a hit.
. . . to go bowling on Christmas Eve. (My little sister usually makes/or buys us all matching shirts for the event. But, since we are not together this year, I kind of let that ball drop. Luckily we all had matching shirts from a previous event this year!)
We really had a lot of fun. I am not sure why we have a grump on the left side. Perhaps it is because her mother forced her to take a picture before she could start bowling. Ahhhh . . . the things we do to make our parents happy.
And of course we had to get cheese fries.
Bowling was a success, as usual.
. . . for making cookies for Santa.
. . . luminarios.
. . . caroling in the street while admiring our luminarios.
. . . and pony rides to bed on Christmas Eve.

Perhaps we should change the shirts to "The Good, the Bad and the Grumpy!" We are glad to see the shirts put to good use again this year. I suspect bowling was a lot easier than Ragnar. We noticed that Grumpy was gone by the time they were making cookies. Happy Holidays!
