Utah #2 -- RAGNAR

So, the whole point in pulling the kids out of school early and heading to Utah was so that Ben could run in the RAGNAR. The RAGNAR is a 12 man/woman relay race from Logan to Park City. As we like to do, we made a party out of it. We got a condo up in Eden, Utah (where Ben would start the first leg of his race) the night before. We got to hang out with all of the other participants and family of participants from van #2 -- which turned out to be a lot of grandkids. They are all wearing their team T-shirts.

When the time came for the runners to go to the starting point, the spectators headed to a nearby park where Ben's first exchange would take place. Not a bad place to wait.

We even held a little race of our own on the playground -- timing each individual on a predetermined course. I think Amy won!

Then it came time to watch the exchange. Stacey handed off to Ben.

We followed along on his first leg to make sure he would survive the altitude adjustment (we had only been in Utah for about 24-hours at that point).

The scenery was beautiful and he did really great. He said the air was REALLY dry. The kids and I headed back to SLC to hang out while Ben had a blast with the rest of his team. They finished with a time of around 32 hours. I think he really had lots of fun and I am so proud of him as well as the whole "The Good, The Bad, and The Ugly" team.
