Last month Michael got off of the bus with a flyer for the Math and Science Fair and said, "I want to enter this." I was excited, because I am kind of nerdy like that, and we started brianstorming. Last year when Ben and I came to Washington D.C. for a conference I went to The Air and Space Museum and got Michael a paper airplane book. He has really enjoyed it, so we decided to start from there. He made his favorite model, the Saber-Toothed Bat airplane, out of tissue paper, copy paper, construction paper and cardstock flew them to see which would fly the farthest. It was great fun to make them and spend a Sunday afternoon at the soccer field flying them.

The projects were set up in the cafeteria.

Then there were various demonstrations in classroom and the gymnasium that you could attend during three sessions. They were very impressive, the kids loved it.

This is one where they were given four straws, a sheet of paper, four Life Savers, two paper clips and some masking tape. Then they were instructed to build a "car" that they would blow to move. They actually did a really great job.

Sarah just ate her Life Savers.
They got to drive remote controlled robots that some Community College kids had built.

And they got to shoot smoke rings down the hallway.

They learned how to do fingerprints and identify their shapes with a magnifying glass.

I think that their favorite demonstration was "Dry Ice." They got to play with the bubbles that were made with water, dry ice and soap.

Michael really loved to tell people about his project, and he even brought an extra plane in case anyone wanted to fly it.

Michael was really proud of his project . . . and we are really proud of our little boy. GO MICHAEL!!!

Too cute! This looks like so much fun and seriously so Michael. We will have to fly some planes when you are here in the summer because that has become one of our favorite winter in the basement activities.
Bien amigo, te explico!

Ahora, con respecto a tu primera pregunta. Simplemente soy un blogger que en sus tiempos de ocio se dedica a leer blogs, cuando no escribo en el mío.
