It started on March 7th (the Saturday before my birthday). My cute girlfriends took me out to lunch. It was so nice to chat, and the food was delicious.
The weather was beautiful. That afternoon we took the kids to Maymont Park (a 100 acre park in downtown Richmond) and walked around, saw bison, ate pizza and had tons of fun.
Then we ate the messiest cup cakes ever. We all had about three each. (Sarah and Emma mostly just licked the frosting off.)
Then on Sunday, after church, I made myself an ice cream cake. It was sooooo good. We sat out on our deck and Ben and the kids sang Happy Birthday and we ate and ate.
On my actual birthday (Monday, March 9th) everybody went off to school and work. Sarah and I packed for our trip. When everyone got home Ben gave me my birthday present (some super cute VCU attire) then we jumped in the car and headed to D.C. On the way I decided that I wanted to stop at Ikea for my birthday dinner. (Those meatballs are awesome!!!) It was so fun to hang out and let the kids play.
Then when we got to D.C. (i.e. Mel and Cherry's house) my sweet aunt and uncle had a birthday cake waiting for me. We sang and celebrated and visited until bedtime. The next morning we left for a wonderful trip to Salt Lake (which is a pretty awesome gift in itself). When we arrived late Tuesday night, we celebrated once again with decorations and gifts.
So . . . yes . . . it my have been my best birthday yet. Thanks to all of you who made it so wonderful.
