Shanny and Ciro

I felt so spoiled that I was able to go to Salt Lake to see this two get married.

Shannon has been such a wonderful part of our family for so long.  It was exciting to see her get married and so fun to hang out with her and Ciro.  The rest of my family wished that they could have been there, but I got to be the lucky one.

The trip was really a journey back into the past.  I had no kids, no husband and I was hanging out with these cute girls (Shannon and Krista, Katie and Barb) doing fun things that we used to do when we were young.  I felt like I was in High School again.

It was fun to work with them setting up for the reception.

The spouses and fiance was fun to hang out with too.  They are pretty funny guys!

The Draper temple was pretty chilly and VERY windy that day.  Here Barb, Mom and I are huddling together to stay warm.  I love those girls!

Like I said, the trip was a blast from the past.  We went out to the storage shed to find some stuff from our old fish tank for me to take back to Virginia -- and we found lots of other fun things as well.  Some things made us laugh so hard and some things made us cry.  Here are Barbie and I dressed in some of Dad's old uniforms.

Here is the fam at Chuck-A-Rama.  This was one of the first few days after Mom's diagnosis of Type I Diabetes and she was trying to find stuff that she could eat.  Chuck-A-Rama was a great choice for her to be able to pick and choose.  (I am so happy to report that she is doing much better, and really getting into the swing of things.)

Another one of my favorite parts of the trip was going out to Grandma Mary's house.  Grandpa A.L. passed away on June 13, 2012 and everyone really worked hard to get the yard and house ready for the Memorial Service.  It was beautiful and took me back to my childhood of Easter Egg Hunts, Christmases and family parties.

These are my best girls!

Grandma's front yard and gazebo . . . paradise!
