Pocahontas State Park

Well, I guess it is a tradition now -- this will be our third year!  The weekend before school got out we went camping.  Pocahontas State Park is a beautiful place that makes camping very, very easy.

That morning Nate, Sarah and I went down with a few other friends to stake out our sites.  We got 6 great ones all together.  We set up a few tents and chairs to mark our spots and then headed home to pack and put Nate down for a nap.

After school got out, and Ben got home we were on our way to the campsite.  We spent the evening just hanging out and playing together.

We bought "Nate's" (obviously a hand-me-down) bike.  I don't think he got off of that thing until it was bedtime, and was back on it in his jammies the next morning.  Luckily he has Madeline to keep track of him.

Michael was generous enough to let all of the kids use his telescope.  They are a pretty great bunch of boys. I think we had over thirty kids there!

Cooking dinner over the campfire is always fun.  With all of the friends -- it is quite a feast.

It was just so much fun to watch these little ones!

Then off to bed.  Surprisingly, it was quite chilly that night.  We ended up having Nate sleep in between Ben and I to keep him warm.  Those chilly nights don't last for long.

The next day we had a blast at the water park!  Lot of swimming, splashing and eating.

I think I love camping a little more each time we go.  I hope we keep up this very fun tradition.

Every picture of Nate in Bean's old clothes makes me picture playing with Michael as a baby! Those are some cute and sweet boys you got! Including my sweet Ben!

What a crew of kids! Wow. These are great memories for the kids! Nice fire ring at the campsite too.
