Apples and Pumpkins

Fall is in the air. We headed up to Carter Mountain Orchards while Mom was here visiting. We had a really fun afternoon climbing trees, picking apples, eating them and hanging out together.

Michael found a few really big ones.

Our sweet Emma is quite the climber. I think she just wanted to climb as high as she possibly could -- and oh, ya get apples too.

Ben even got in on some of the action.

As we drove up the mountain there were hundreds of cars. But as we got further into the orchards we were the only ones around. It was very peaceful and beautiful.

The air was cool and the smell of sweet apples was everywhere.

The orchard lets you eat as much as you want while you are there, as long as you are not wasteful. These two were definitely not wasteful.

I think Nate even ate most of the core of his apple. They had a great time sharing.

Then off to pick some pumpkins. We opted for the "Pumpkin Patch" that was within five minutes of home. The kids looked and looked for the perfect pumpkin.

Nate explored and tried to lift up every pumpkin. He is so darn cute!

They each found their own special pumpkin.

Now . . . what to carve in our pumpkins?
