Aftermath/Clean-up

They, of course, canceled church today. There is so much to be done to clean up from Irene. We went on a short drive around our neighborhood this morning and this is what we found:

There were SO many trees down. Branches were everywhere. You could hear chainsaws starting as soon as the sun came up.



This is one of the larger trees next to the pond. The city had already been by to cut off the part that was blocking the road.


This is a shot of the path from our house down to the "swing park". For those of you who know our neighborhood, it is right before the little bridge that crosses the creek on the way to the pond. You can barely see the path under the fallen trees.


Even the swing park was hit. Luckily the swings are still in good shape.


So many neighbors are out cutting up fallen trees and branches. It 's an amazing/interesting morning. We were very, very, very lucky. Thank you for all of your prayers on our behalf.
