Valentine's Day

I guess I have really gotten into the spirit of the "lesser" holidays. It must have something to do with having kids in school where there is a buzz about any holiday. Anyway, I have been excited for a couple of weeks as we approached Valentine's Day. We got the kids cards to exchange with their classmates. We wrote cards to each other. On Valentine's Day we had a blast. I did Sarah's hair in the shape of a heart (The top didn't turn out like I anticipated. I think next year I will be able to do it a little better.)

I had gotten each member of the family a small gift. Sarah helped me wrap them in white paper and put Valentine's stickers on them. I guess if you are the one decorating them, you can decide how many stickers you need on yours.

Nate got a box of Rice Cereal, Sarah got a new Zhu Zhu Pet, Emma got a swimming cover up for the summer, Michael got Harry Potter Legos, I got a cupcake stand, and Ben got a new pair of jeans.

Last year someone had mentioned to me that they had a fancy dinner with their whole family. That sounded like so much fun, so I wanted to try it. We set the table all cutsie. I made Chicken Cordon Bleu, wild rice molded into heart shapes and asparagus with lemon zest. We also had a yummy cranberry/sprite drink (It was red!).

I thought it was a really fun way to celebrate the love we have in our family.

We wrapped up the evening with heart shaped brownies for dessert.

I love my family! I love My Valentine, Ben! I am so lucky. HAPPY VALENTINE'S DAY!

What a darling dinner! It is good you only let Sarah wrap the presents, not pick out the presents. Had she been able to pick out the presents, there may have been a run on ZhuZhu pets, and there would be none for anyone else in the country, and each of you would be the proud owner of new ZhuZhu pets.

I think you had "the Best Valentines Day EVER!"

Wow! Where did you come from, Betsy? Am I really your Mom? I wish someone had done that for my sweet children & husband! I am so impressed. Love you all so much!!!
