Charlottesville, VA

The other day we went out to Charlottesville with a group of friends to pick peaches. I love Charlottesville, it is so beautiful and there are so many fun things to do there. We picked peaches at Carter Mountain Orchard, which is right next to Monticello. The views from the mountaintop are breathtaking . . . so was the "hike" to get to the peaches.

Behind Sarah and Emma you can see the Barn where we parked. I don't think it would have been so arduous, but Sarah insisted that she couldn't walk anymore because her "feet hurt" and it was hot (summer in Virginia, humid hot). But it was really fun to pick our own peaches off of the trees and watch the kids inspect them to see if they were ripe.

As always, most of the fun results from the friends that accompany you. We were lucky enough to have lots of people to share in the fun. Thanks to Brittany for planning and organizing such an awesome trip.

After peach picking the kids and I headed into Charlottesville. Ben had to be at work late, so I decided to stay out there a little longer. We went to the Children's Discovery Museum. It was so much fun, I think we were there two hours. It is so great because there is plenty to do, and it is not too busy.

We ended the day having dinner at Wendy's, frostys and all. It was a wonderful day, and an awesome summer filled with fun trips and activities. I am glad that it is not quite over yet!

So fun! I love taking the kids on fruit picking outings. They seem to like eating it more if they picked it themselves. What did you make with all those peaches?

Hey lady. How is Espana, with the squiggle on top, I can't wait to see pictures. Do you miss the kids yet? Miss you. Love Ab
