Christmas

The Christmas Season was a wonderful time for our family this year. We had loads of fun! As I was looking through our collection of pictures I decided that I wanted to list some of our very favorite things about this Christmas.

#1. Hanging out with friends. We live so far away from family . . . I don't know what we would do without such wonderful friends to have as "our family away from family." We have some goooooood times together.

#2. Miracle of Christmas Pageant. This was our first Christmas in Virginia, and our first opportunity to go to the Miracle of Christmas Pageant at the Zoo. It was amazing! We had a great time being out in the cold with our family and remembering the birth of our Savior.

#3. Honoring traditions. It was definately different spending December in Virginia instead of Utah this year. But we were sure to carry on our Christmas Eve traditions . . . bowling and luminarios.

#4. Uncle and new nephew meeting for the first time. We have been so lucky to have a lot of company since Nate was born. He has already been able to meet his Grandpa, two Grandmas and two aunts (plus Shanny). But this was his first time meeting his Uncle Colby . . . they really hit it off.

#5. Sisters. "Sisters. Sisters. There were never such devoted sisters." It was so great to be together.

#6. Cutting your present open with a knife. How awesome is that? And it was tools besides!

#7. Falling asleep in your present on Christmas morning. What bliss!

#8. Making a total fool of yourself. Barbie got this new Wii game, Just Dance, for Christmas. We danced ourselves silly.

#9. Turning our garage into a shooting range. Emma got an air soft pistol for a gift and we just had to go out and use it, but it was too cold outside . . . we had to improvise.

#10. Being a kid . . . with friction burns to prove it. We went to the open bounce at Inflation Nation. You have to pay for the kids . . . but adults are free! I am not sure if the kids or the adults had more fun . . . or got more injuries.

There are these wonderful times and soooo many more (snow on Christmas Day, kids so excited that they hug their toys, crafts with aunts, yummy food, naps while you snuggle a baby, i-chats with a new niece, getting packages from UPS every day for the two weeks prior to Christmas, staying up late playing games, talking and crying about my sweet Dad, sledding and snowball fight in our front yard, getting late Christmas gifts in the mail, etc.) We are truly blessed to be who we are, where we are, surrounded by those that surround us, loved by those that love us, and know the truth of the gospel. Merry Christmas and Happy New Year to all!

What a cute post! I really liked the part about the nephew and uncle. I can see they must go to the same barber. Matching haircuts!

As for the UPS packages, nothing beats Michael's old song, "Trains and Packages". It is still so true.
